What it means
An everyday setback suddenly feels enormous. Use the expression when a small disappointment deserves an excessively sad reaction.
When to use it
- When the delivery app says ‘arriving’ for the third time
- Me remembering the snack I was saving is already gone
Keep the setup brief and let the expression carry the reaction. A specific everyday frustration usually makes a clearer joke than a long explanation.
Where it came from
Know Your Meme traces an early Crying Cat edit of Serious Cat to a June 2014 Meme Generator post. The format is also known as Schmuserkadser.
