Privacy and optional analytics

You can browse, download and make memes without allowing optional analytics.

Local editing and search

The meme editor processes captions and images in your browser. It does not upload your captions or finished PNGs. Gallery search works locally. New search text is not written into the page URL. We do not send raw search terms, captions or generated image contents in our analytics events.

Your choice comes first

Analytics settings never open automatically. You can open “Privacy settings” in the footer to make or change your choice. Google Analytics is blocked until you choose “Allow analytics.” Choosing “Keep analytics off” leaves the site’s features available. A Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal keeps analytics off even if an older saved choice allowed it. Local previews and page visits containing query strings or fragments are excluded from analytics.

What optional analytics measures

If allowed, Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-9GGJCNHQZG) measures page views, result counts, mood filters, downloads, shares, template selections and editor exports. Our events use authored canonical page addresses without query strings or fragments and omit referrers and free-text inputs. Advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalization consent remain denied, and Google Signals is disabled in the tag configuration.

Google may process device, browser, network and cookie information when its tag runs. How Google uses information from partner sites (opens in a new tab) explains its processing.

Storage and withdrawal

A local preference record remembers your analytics choice for up to 180 days. When analytics is allowed, our Google tag sets an analytics-cookie lifetime of up to 180 days without extending it on each visit. Browser settings may shorten that period. Changing your choice to off disables tracking, removes accessible first-party Google Analytics cookies for this site and reloads a page if the tag was already loaded. Withdrawal does not automatically erase previously processed data.

Hosting and external sites

Cloudflare delivers this website and may process request information such as IP addresses, browser headers and requested URLs for delivery and security. Cloudflare’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab) describes its processing. This hosting activity is separate from optional Google Analytics.

External sources, template services and your device’s share targets have their own privacy practices. We do not load external classic images or embedded editors automatically. The site sends no referrer header when you follow a link.

Requests about your data

For an access, deletion or correction request, identify the concern and the relevant page or approximate visit date. Do not put private information into captions, gallery searches or shared URLs.
